Het is een middelgrote maar charmante stad die bekendstaat om haar middeleeuwse bovenstad, monumentale trappen, d\u2019Artagnan en gastronomie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hier is een duidelijk overzicht:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Algemene informatie<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Ligging:<\/strong> Tussen Toulouse en Tarbes, in het hart van de Gascogne.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Bekend om:<\/strong> De monumentale kathedraal, de Escalier monumental, d\u2019Artagnan en de landelijke, heuvelachtige omgeving.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Erfgoed &amp; bezienswaardigheden<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Cath\u00e9drale Sainte-Marie d\u2019Auch<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Een indrukwekkend gotisch-renaissancistisch gebouw (UNESCO-werelderfgoed, onderdeel van de Santiago-route).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Vooral beroemd om:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Glas-in-loodramen van Arnaud de Moles<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Uitzonderlijk houtsnijwerk<\/strong> in het koor<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Escalier monumental<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Monumentale trap met <strong>374 treden<\/strong> die de boven- en benedenstad met elkaar verbindt.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Halverwege staat het beroemde <strong>standbeeld van d\u2019Artagnan<\/strong>, de musketier uit Alexandre Dumas\u2019 verhalen (gebaseerd op de echte Charles de Batz de Castelmore).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Tour d\u2019Armagnac<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Een middeleeuwse donjon\/bewaringstoren naast de kathedraal.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>La vieille ville<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Kleine steegjes, vakwerkhuizen, arcades en mooie uitzichten over de Gers-vallei.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Cultuur &amp; evenementen<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Circa (Festival du Cirque Actuel):<\/strong> Een internationaal festival voor modern circus (najaar).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Nuits Musicales en Armagnac:<\/strong> Klassieke concerten in de regio.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Museum van de Gascogne:<\/strong> Over regionale geschiedenis en cultuur.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Gastronomie<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Auch ligt in een van de culinaire regio\u2019s van Frankrijk. (kasteel)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Fleurance<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Lectoure<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wijngaarden die Armagnac en C\u00f4tes-de-Gascogne-wijn
